Maria Vegh

Maria Vegh is a former ballerina from Juilliard, ballet teacher, and founder of the Maria Vegh Dance Centre. She is also the author of the books "How to Make a Ballet Dancer" and "To Dance".
==Early life==
Vegh attended Juilliard for singing on a scholarship, where she was first introduced to ballet. She had never danced ballet before, but she showed promise and enthusiasm, prompting the instructor to give Vegh private dance lessons. The instructor told Vegh that she can repay her by spreading her knowledge of ballet.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.anamericanballetstory.com/archives/category/maria )〕 After Juliard, she went to the National Academy of Ballet. Vegh became a soloist at the Repertory Company of New York from 1953–1960, and shortly after was a principal dancer with the Royal Ponciana Theatre until 1963. After professionally dancing ballet for ten years, Vegh switched her occupation from ballerina to ballet instructor.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.mariavegh.com/index.html )
